Contact information may be shared in discussion groups so that members might continue to get to know each other outside the weekly discussion, and is especially useful for prayer requests among the group.
It is not required that your contact information be shared. You have the option to opt out/opt in to providing your email address and/or mobile phone number under your Edit Profile and Account Settings pages.
Note: April 2024 Security Improvement hides phone number and email address between members by default. Contact information is always visible to Leaders and HQ Staff.
To opt out/in of sharing your mobile phone number:
- Go to your profile under the Navigation menu, Account > Edit Profile
- Toggle the button ‘on’ (blue) next to ‘Hide My Mobile Number’
- Toggle the button 'off' (gray) to opt in and display mobile number to group members.
- Do not forget to select ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page!
To opt out/in of sharing your email address:
- Go to your account settings under the Navigation menu, Account > Account Settings
- On the Email page, toggle the button ‘on’ (blue) next to ‘Hide My Email’
- Toggle the button 'off' (gray) to opt in and display email address to group members.
- Do not forget to select ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page!
When you opt out of sharing your email or mobile phone number, this means when other members select the down arrow on your profile on the My Group page, they will not have the option to email you or message you via WhatsApp.
Your Online Group Leader will always have access to your contact information to be able to connect with you but will keep your information confidential.
