Parental Permission and Child Registration

For both in-person and online programs, all children and students must be registered by their parent or legal guardian. To do so, each parent or legal guardian must create an account in MyBSF.

Child registration can be completed by a parent or legal guardian in three ways:

  1. Log into MyBSF:
Navigate to the Register/Register My Children page and select Sign Permission next to the child’s name. Alternatively, under the member’s name, select Edit Profile and then go to Children Information to complete the process.

  2. Complete a Paper Child Registration (I 104) Form:
A new paper form can be filled out, and the Class Staff can enter the information on behalf of the parent/legal guardian in MyBSF.

  3. Use the Foxit eSign Link:
Complete the form using the Foxit eSign link. The Class Staff will then enter the information on behalf of the parent/legal guardian in MyBSF.
Note: The Foxit eSign link is especially useful for parents/legal guardians who are not physically present in your class.

For non-class members (e.g., parents/legal guardians not attending a class), please use option 2 or 3 to complete the registration. The Class Staff will create a user profile (Account Holder) for the parent in MyBSF and add the child to that adult's profile.

Information Included in the Child Registration Process/Form:

  1. Permission to Attend on Zoom (if applicable)
  2. Release for Use of Photo/Video
  3. Consent for Medical Care
  4. Other Adult Class Members authorized by the parent/legal guardian to accompany the child to class

Statuses You May See on a Child’s Profile:

  1. Placement Statuses:

    • Placed: The child has been assigned to a class.
    • Unassigned: The child has not been assigned to a class.
    • Waitlisted: The child is on a waitlist for a class.
    • Incomplete Permission: The registration is not yet complete due to missing permissions.
    • Inactive: The child's registration is no longer active.
  2. Registration Statuses:

    • Registered: The child is fully registered.
    • Declined by User: The parent/legal guardian declined the registration.
    • Not Registered: The child has not been registered for the program.
    • Pending Permissions: The registration is pending due to incomplete permissions.

Note: "Incomplete Permission" and "Ineligible" are often used interchangeably, but parents/legal guardians will specifically see Incomplete Permission.
