Thank you for contacting us with your desire to start a new BSF group. Here is some general information that might be helpful:

BSF begins as a satellite discussion group. Satellites increase accessibility to the in-depth study of God’s Word by expanding the reach of BSF into communities surrounding existing classes, or into brand new areas. A satellite is led by a trained BSF group leader who connects weekly with an established BSF leader’s meeting. BSF Area Teams assist anyone interested in starting a satellite in their community. Visit www.bsfinternational.org to learn more about our approach to Bible study.

As the satellite grows, a prayer group may be formed to seek God’s will for the establishment of a BSF class. Since BSF is interdenominational, prayer group participants are from a variety of churches and denominations. Most of our classes are held in churches but we are guests only and not a part of the church’s program. Out of that prayer group and with guidance from a BSF Area Team, leadership is chosen for the class.

Another option is BSF Online which is the most expedient way to participate in or invite others to study the Bible through BSF in an area where there is not an existing local meeting. Group members connect online weekly. Lesson materials and the lecture are provided electronically. Visit www.bsfonline.org to join an online group.

A third option is WordGo which is a group Bible study app designed to help anyone anywhere prioritize daily engagement with God’s Word. It takes everything we love about the classic BSF model - content, training and Bible teaching - and puts them into the hands of people who want in-depth Bible study but don’t have the opportunity to engage with a BSF class due to location, schedule or life stage. Visit www.wordgo.org to learn more.

May the Lord guide you as you seek His direction. Please submit a ticket if you are interested in starting a satellite discussion group.
